I had a pretty good reading month! The best book I reviewed this month was Seraphina by Rachel Hartman. I am utterly enamoured with the worldbuilding and the writing is so gorgeous! Seraphina is such a wonderful heroine as well. I am really looking forward to Shadow Scale.

I also read two ARCs, reviews for which will go up nearer the publication date: Not Otherwise Specified by Hannah Moskowitz, and Bleeding Earth by Kaitlin Ward. I'm sad to say that Bleeding Earth was kind of a disappointment, but Not Otherwise Specified was excellent and you guys should all grab a copy when it comes out in March!

Things that happened in January

I started watching Kuroko no Basket last month, and I finally caught up at the beginning of this month just before Season 3 began. SEASON 2 WAS AMAZING AND I LOVED EVERY MOMENT OF IT. I'm now happily following Season 3! I haven't found myself so utterly engrossed in an anime in quite a while.

I went and watched the Lion King musical in London! IT WAS AWESOME. I loved the costumes and the set design so much.

I'm rewatching Avatar: The Last Airbender with my boyfriend (he's watching it for the first time) AND I LOVE IT MORE THAN EVER. IT'S SERIOUSLY STILL THE BEST.

How was your January? What was the best book you read this month?

  1. Have I mentioned that I love your new look? BECAUSE IT'S TRULY GORGEOUS AHHHH.

Anyway yes, you got some brilliant reads in this month! So many four star books xD Everyone and their mothers seem to have read and loved Seraphina so I have to get to that one soon gah! Maybe I'll wait for the sequel release and binge them, no?

Have a nice week, Cynthia <33

I know, I rated so many books four stars I started feeling a bit guilty but I mean, it's the truth! I JUST READ SO MANY GREAT BOOKS. YOU MUST READ SERAPHINA. Some people do find it a little too slow but I personally thought it was just perfect. I guess it's a good idea to wait for the sequel though now that it's coming out so soon! :)

  2. There are a lot of good things in this post. First, YAYAYYA FOR AVATAR. I need to watch the Korra seasons, I ended with season 1 but haven't had the motivation to continue. Second, YAYAYA KUROKO! I haven't finished season 1 because I cannot get over the fact that the team lost and it just hurts. And third, YAY FOR READING 11 BOOKS! I'm glad you loved Seraphina! I wish I did too, but stupid audiobooks gah. I'm going to be reading the sequel though so yay!

Honestly, the one thing about rewatching A:tLA is that I've realised how amazing it is compared to Korra. ;___; Korra is still good, but it's just nowhere near as good as A:tLA, which was just FANTASTIC. I can't believe how good A:tLA is. Korra is kind of a disappointment in comparison, really. Season 1 especially. It does get better after Season 1 though.

NOOOO VAL YOU MUST FINISH SEASON 1 OF KNB AND GO ONTO SEASON 2 BECAUSE SEASON 2 IS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME. Season 1 was a bit of a drag for me but it always takes me a while to get into an anime. By Season 2 I was absolutely loving it.

February has been going pretty great so far so I hope it does continue being great! YOU HAVE AN AWESOME FEBRUARY TOO.
